Hiking at FDR State Park

On November 9th and 10th, Troop 11 backpacked 10 miles at the FDR State Park. While we were there, we saw what nature had to offer on the trails. The boys of troop 11 arrived from the long car trip ready to stretch their legs and excited for the trip ahead. All of us got our packs on and started on the trail. While we were on the trail, we saw beautiful sights such as flowing streams, glistening waterfalls, and the sun shining brightly through the many trees. It took a while, but when we finally arrived at the campsite after hiking up and down mountains, we were all ready to set up our tents and eat the dinners that we had packed. After everyone was all set up, some of the boys gathered up and started a fire for everyone to sit around and talk. Once it was dark, we were all exhausted from the day’s work and went to bed in our tents. The next morning, everyone packed their stuff and started the trek down the rest of the path to the end of the trail. There was of course, more beautiful views, but the prettiest was when we got to the mountain at the end of the trail and were able to look down upon what we had just hiked, the sun shining over all of it. After troop 11 was done admiring the views, we loaded up our cars and went back to the comforts of home, with the memories of that campout in our mind.
